Mala workshop:
A mala is a special string of 108 beads used in japa meditation to count mantras. When you string your own mala, you have the opportunity to place your intentions into the beads and stones so the mala can be worn as a reminder of the affirmations you want to carry with you. In this workshop with Rachael Kinsey, you will learn more about the significance of the 108 beads in a mala, the specific uses of crystals and stones for intention setting, and how to meditate with the mala you create. Choose from a wide variety of gemstones and crystals, rosewood beads, and tassels to design your mala. Come with and open mind and open heart and walk away with a beautiful meditation tool and representation of your intentions.
Rachael Kinsey Designs Bio:
Rachael Kinsey’s passion for art began as a young child evolving into a career after graduating Art School. She has spent the past 8 years in Hawaii and San Francisco pursuing careers in visual merchandising, event + floral design, interior design and running her own jewelry company, Rachael Kinsey Designs. After immersing herself in yoga 14 years ago, yoga became a guide in her creative process. She believes we are able to foster our creative skills by connecting our mind body and spirit. Rachael recently moved back to North Carolina and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Asheville Yoga Center. She just recently launched a DIY + Wellness Workshops business, Project Social- a community driven organization for adults and children to hold space for creative exploration through the DIY experience. She partners with local artist and wellness instructors throughout the Wilmington community to foster a healthy space for adults and children to tap into their own magic as a collective through art, yoga, and meditation.
Rachael Kinsey Designs inspiration comes from the earth, sea, and stars. She incorporates materials from nature’s bounty, with gemstones and naturally dyed fibers that carry life and magic of those living things. Each piece made with intention and love to inspire you to move through the world from an empowered place of your own truth.
